Have you see the story from the Washington Post, Oil Price Rise Causes Global Shift in Wealth? The headline caught my eye so I checked it out. Along the way I learned something interesting. It’s something that I feel like I should have already known, but I didn’t so I thought I would share.

Apparenlty, if you live in Alaska you get rewarded with oil money each year. Here’s the snippet from the article:

High prices have given a boost to oil-rich Alaska, which in September raised the annual oil dividend paid to every man, woman and child living there for a year to $1,654, an increase of $547 from last year.

Interesting, yes? I sure wish I loved the cold and could live in Alaska.
