8 Tips On Weight Loss Success

Losing weight is hard. Losing weight and keeping it off seems even harder! If you are trying to lose some weight, here are eight things that I have learned on how to lose weight and keep it off.

One - Don’t eat so fast! It takes something like 20 minutes for your belly to let your brain know that it is full. So, if you eat fast by the time your brain get the message you will have over eaten.

Two - Do things slowly. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day and you can’t totally change the way you eat and how fit you are in a day. Set some goals and then work up to them slowly.

Three - Start a food journal. Writing down what you eat not only makes you aware of what you are eating but it makes you accountable to yourself. Start a blog on your weight loss and tell us all about it - even more accountability there!

Four - Get a support network. Try to get your family on board with you. It is easier to not snack on a cookie if no one else does. And if they are going through what you are it makes things easier for all of you to have someone else to lean on.

Five - Shop with a list. If you only shop for food from a list you won’t make bad decisions. Don’t put junk food on the list and don’t buy it! No matter how good the sale is! Or your coupon.

Six - Try to avoid restaurants. And if you do dine out - start with a salad and only eat half of the entrée. Remember to skip cream based soups too!

Seven -  Reduce stress. Wh? Because stress leads to over eating silly!

Eight - Choose things you enjoy. Do activities that you enjoy for your exercise. And only eat things that you enjoy. Losing weight does not mean that you have to eat salads for every meal - or any meal!
