Take a financial snapshot

Posted by chica with issues under money issues

If you have recently sat down and taken a good hard look at your finances and come up with some financial goals you may be wondering what your next step is. You may want to dive right in and get to work on reaching those goals. But before you jump in so quick you will first want to assess your current financial situation. You already know where you want to go but you need to see where you are before you can see the path that you need to take.

The first thing you will want to do is look at your cash flow. You should look to see all the money that you have coming in during the month and all that you have going out. This will also let you know if you are spending more than you are making or vice versa.

If you need some help, here is a simple cash flow worksheet to get you started. You can tweak the expense and income lines as needed for your individual situation.
