Thanks to everyone for your entries.

Here are the tips that were submitted:

Fabulously Broke says : KEEP TRACK OF ALL OF YOUR EXPENSES :) It’s the best way to get a cold hard dose of reality about what you’re REALLY spending versus what you THINK you’re spending… Plus, you can build a realistic budget from that.

PinayInTheUs says: buy only what u absolutely NEED. what u need and what u want may be two different things.

Penny Saved says: Always check the websites of your favorite restaurants and stores for coupons. You’d be surprised about how much you can save with almost no effort. Also if you take prescription medication, check for coupons that can be used with new or transfered prescriptions…CVS offers up to $25 per new / transfered prescriptions throughout the year.

Grigory says: Whenever I read or hear about an interesting book, I try to get it from my college library. If (usually “when”) they don’t have it, I order it through an inter-college library loan system. Basically, I get the same book for the same amount of time (3-6 weeks) for free, and all I have to do is wait a couple of days for it to arrive. :) I’m sure one of your local colleges has a similar program. The only catch is that you have to be a college student to get books from their library, but you can sidestep that requirement by taking a 1-credit class, like pottery or yoga sometime in the evening or on weekends. It might sound like a lot of work, but in the end, you’ll save a lot of money on your books. :D

This Little Piggy says: Pay yourself first. I have a set amount Payroll Deducted to a savings account that I don’t touch. When I get a raise I add that amount to the deduction. Also no ATM cards or debit cards.
