Retailers are scheming - they want your economic stimulus check!

I am pretty stoked about getting my economic stimulus check in a few weeks. I plan on using it to stimulate my debt pay down! Muah hahahaha.

Well, there is no shortage of retailers out there that are hungry for your economic stimulus check. And if you can afford some frivolous spending, then you can get a bonus from these retailers.

This morning on SlickDeals I saw that Kroger grocery stores want your stimulus check. If you take it to them they will give you a $30 gift card for every $300. There are Kroger grocery stores near me, so I considered this one for a moment. Then I remembered that I am supposed to be moving out of state in two months. Bummer.

The Consumerist is reporting something similar with Sears. Apparently Sears is offering a 10% bonus to anyone who converts their stimulus check into a Sears Gift Card. So, I guess if you were looking to buy appliances or something from Sears this could be a pretty good deal for you.

Me? I’m sticking with paying off debt.
