A taste test and review of Trim Water
A while back I had mentioned that when I travel I find it difficult to find drinks that I like that are not super high in calories. I do not drink soda. And at home my list of beverages is usually limited to: coffee, tea or water. Sure, I have some juice and milk in the fridge that I drink every now and then. I also have ginger ale. But for the most part it is coffee, tea and water.
Well, when I travel water can get pretty tiring so I look for things with flavor. Typically I end up drinking Vitamin Water when I need some flavor. I love Vitamin Water, but it is packed with calories. After I mentioned this a few months ago someone from Trim Water contacted me and arranged to send me some samples of their product.
Trim Water is made by the Trim Spa people. As such, it has some pretty ridiculous images on the bottles. And by ridiculous I mean something reminiscent of a romance novel. With that in mind, this is not something that I would want to be seen in public drinking out of. But that could just be me.
The real appeal of Trim Water for me was that it is low-calorie. It is 10 calories per bottle. It also has caffeine in it, if that is something that appeals to you. I was also intrigued by the flavor options with Trim Water. Luckily they sent me all of the flavors.
My favorite is the Lemon-Citrus. It reminds me of Crystal Light Lemonade. Pink Grapefruit-Honey is second on my list. It is surprisingly tasty. Black Cherry-Blackberry was another that I liked. Other available flavors are: Pomegranate-Cranberry, Peach-Mango, Blueberry-Pear, Raspberry-Vanilla and Passionfruit- Berry.
All of the Trim Waters are clear liquid. And they are all sweetened with an artificial sweetener (sucralose). I was actually surprised at how overpoweringly sweet they were. If you are not a fan of the taste of artificial sweeteners though, you will not enjoy Trim Water. Personally, I do not like the taste of artificial sweetener, but I can usually handle it. With Trim Water, there were only three varieties that I could actually drink due to the overwhelming taste of artificial sweetener. Some people do not mind it though, and if that is you then you might want to give these interesting flavors a try.
If you are interested in trying some Trim Water, be warned that it is not yet available in stores everywhere. But you can order it from their website. And they have a zip code locator so you can see if it is near you.
The verdict? If I am planning a big road trip, then I would probably buy some of the flavors that I liked. But I would not buy this for every day usage. Or even for a short road trip. The artificial sweetner really just turns me off for the most part. Thanks to Trim Water for sending me out the samples!
