The best and worst cities for your job
I have been reading a lot of articles lately about the economy and the unemployment rate. And yesterday I came across an article claiming to show the best and worst cities for your job. Now, the article was using things like the cost of living in the area to come up with your “real wage” and then deciding on what cities ranked the best and worst for that.
Considering the high cost of rent in cities like New York and Los Angeles, I was not too terribly surprised to see them on pretty much all of the “worst” lists for each profession. I was, however, surprised by the cities that consistently ranked “best.”
You can click on the link above for the complete story and slide show if you want. You will see that Dallas and Houston made it onto almost all the lists as a “best” city. Charlotte and Denver were also tops on a lot of the lists. I would have liked to have seen a list that took into account the local unemployment rate as well instead of just the standard of living you could expect.

This article is very useful for those who want to imrove their standard of living. Nevertheless, it is quite general and specific factors are not taken into consideration.
