Needs versus wants
After spending time with my extended family, I have been doing a lot of thinking on finances. Sure, I am in some debt. And sure, I have made a lot of sacrifices so that I can focis on paying down that debt. I still have the debt, it is not gone, but it is getting smaller and smaller each month. But noticing how my relatives “needs” were really “wants” made me start to re-evaluate my own needs and wants.
You know what I realized?
I have a few things that I considered “needs” that I can do without. So, I am beginning to downsize my life even more. In fact, I am at a gas station right now using the free wi-fi access. I also plan on getting rid of some clothes and things that I do not need. The end result will be that everything should fit into a smaller apartment, thus saving me some rent money each month!
I cant wait to find more areas of my life that I can “downsize” by identifying needs as wants. I urge you to take the same look at your own financial life today!
