An honest opinion of Netflix.com

Have you gone to the movies lately? The prices are pretty high. And if you have gone to a rental store you will see that their prices are not exactly cheap either. So, if you love movies but are trying to save some cash, what do you do? Well, you could sign up for a movie channel package on your cable - if you have cable that is. The problem with this though is that you are limited to the movies that they play. And boy do they love to play the same movies over and over and over. So, I had a better idea. I had seen ads for Netflix and saw that their monthly plans varied in price where some were less than adding a movie package to my cable and some were slightly more. So. I decided to take the plunge and signed up for a free trial of their service recently.

Free trials are awesome. It is a great way to try out something for free. With Netflix, I initially signed up for a plan that was higher than wanted to pay but offered more movies out at once. My thought here was that I would downgrade before the trial ended if I wanted to keep the service.

Signing up was super easy. And they have plans for as low as $4.99 a month! I added a few movies to my queue in a matter of minutes. The next day I got an email that my first few DVDs had shipped and should arrive in one business day. And one business day later there they were! Apparently, Netflix has warehouses all over the US so that pretty much anyone can get their DVDs in one business day.

After you watch your Netflix DVDs you just send them back in the same envelope that they arrived in. So, you do not have to pay for any shipping at all! And then they automatically send you the next items in your queue. Unless something is out of stock at the time and then they just move on to the next item. I learned that it is a good idea to keep that queue stocked up on movies in case this happens.

When my trial period was almost up I decided to keep Netflix and downgraded to the $13.99 plan, which is 2 DVDs at a time and you get unlimited DVDs a month. This is a real savings for me as movies where I am are $10 at the theater, plus you have to pay for parking most of the time.

If you have been looking for ways to trim your entertainment costs I urge you to check out Netflix. It seems to be a great way to minimize your monthly entertainment costs - you save on the cost of a movie, parking, concessions and gas!

You can always sign up for the free trial, watch a lot of free movies and cancel the service if you want. :)

We’ve been using Netflix for years, but I must admit that some months we pay for the service without having time to watch a single movie… 3 kids will do that to you. Other months we get our money’s worth and then some.
